2013-05-18: Hangout Music Festival, Gulf Shores, AL
Our celebration of the 2013 summer tour kicks off today with a show from the first weekend of the tour at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL! TPATHB headlined the festival this year alongside Stevie Wonder and Kings of Leon. The band played three shows (May 17, 18, and 19) and so far this is the only recording I’ve seen pop up.
The quality on this one is okay–the crowd is worked up and a little noisy, but I still find it an enjoyable listen. I do have a soft spot for audience recordings–I like how raw and reminiscent of the show they are. Soundboards are nice, but they’re almost too clean for me. And anyway, ANY recording of “I Just Want To Make Love To You”, which happens to be one of my favorite deep live tracks, is enough to make it worth a listen for me!
I hope you guys get some enjoyment and good listens out of this one and enjoy this month-long celebration of this year’s summer tour!
